Facade Poem

 

                                                                    Facade Poem

    I seem to be like a whole note that is mellow and long

    But really I am a sixteenth note that is lively and quick

   

  I seem to be like the moon that is timid and tranquil
But really I am the sun that is bright and shining

   

   I seem to be like a corner store that is ever so lonely

   But really I am a circus that is exciting and fun

   I seem to be like a businessman that is so serious

   But really I am a clown that is funny and jubilant.

   I seem to be like the inside that is keeping things to myself

   But really I am the outside that is sharing what I have

   I seem to be like a cat that is feisty and mean

   But really I am a dog that is loyal and kindhearted

   I seem to be like a ruby that is bold and outgoing

   But really I am an emerald that is quiet and fearful

   I seem to be like neon that is vivid

   But really I am helium that is light

   I seem to be like grass that is prosperous

   But really I am a mountain that is unique

   I am myself!

Words to Live By

Why I Write

       I write because I can express my personal feelings about what's surrounding me at that specific moment and because I am so free to write anything I want which includes anything from nature's animals to an exciting sports game. To me writing is like a speaking without using your voice box because you can equally say something to another person as to writing or typing to someone saying the same thing on paper like on gmail or another mailing network. Also writing is like another language like English and Korean, a language I speak. I can experience things with just a pencil and paper, I can keep things personally to myself, I can pretty much do anything I want. I write because writing is a passion, a hobby, and many more to me. Like what C.S. Lewis says, " You can make anything with writing."

About the Author (Author Bio)

       Andrew lives in Goleta, California, but has been raised in many places. Andrew was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and stayed there for about 2 years and then moved to New Mexico and stayed there for about 1 ½ years. Then Sukgeun, Andrew’s dad got a job in Colorado and then lived there for 8 years. Recently, Andrew has moved to Goleta and has lived there for 3 months. That is a lot of moving, but in that period of time, Andrew has done and has accomplished many things. To begin with, Andrew had started playing violin when he was 7 years old and has been playing ever since, playing the violin in concerts, recitals, and in auditions. Only an year ago, Andrew had played the piano, but after moving to Goleta, he had to stop. Some hobbies that Andrew has are tennis, hockey, music, and free time with his family. Some accomplishments in tennis that he had is a tennis championship in Colorado with his team that year. Andrew was playing singles which means that he played by himself. Andrew doesn't actually play hockey, but he likes to watch it with his dad. Being born in Minnesota, Andrew likes the Minnesota Wild, a hockey team, but he also likes the Pittsburgh Penguins. One interests Andrew has is nature. Andrew likes the tranquility of Mother Natures gifts such as animals and plants. Andrew's favorite animal is the toad and Andrew likes all plants. Finally, Andrew came to Goleta, and went to the South Coast Writing Camp to improve his writing and to enjoy the art of writing.
